Permanent Exterior Lighting Installation in Amsterdam, NY

We mount app-controlled LED lights along your roofline in a slim track that blends into your trim. You pick warm white for everyday evenings or colors for holidays and game nights, all from your phone. Plan it now and skip the ladder every November.

Lights that stay up and look like part of the house

Permanent lighting is a run of LED nodes set inside a low-profile aluminum channel, fastened along the fascia or under the eave. In daylight it reads as a thin strip of trim. After dark it gives you even, clean light across the whole roofline, and you control it from an app.

It is the right call if you are tired of hanging and pulling down holiday strands, if you want soft accent light at the entry and garage all year, or if you would like the house to look finished at night without floodlights glaring into the neighbor's yard.

The best time to plan is before you need it. When we lay out the job in spring or summer, there is no rush, the trim is dry and easy to inspect, and the system is ready long before the first cold snap rolls through the Mohawk Valley.

What the installation includes

A walk-around and layout plan

We measure every run of roofline you want lit and note corners, peaks and gaps. You get a simple plan showing where the track goes and where the power supply sits.

Color-matched mounting track

The channel is chosen to match your fascia or trim color as closely as we can. It keeps the lights aimed correctly and protects the wiring from snow, ice and sun.

Weather-rated LED nodes

Each node can show warm white, cool white or a full range of colors. They are sealed for outdoor use and spaced so the line looks even from the street.

Power supply and clean wire runs

The system runs on low voltage through a power supply that plugs into an outdoor outlet. We route wires tight to the house so nothing hangs loose or crosses a walkway.

App setup on your phone

Before we leave, we connect the controller to your Wi-Fi, load a few scenes and set a schedule. We walk you through changing colors and timers so you are comfortable using it.

Signs permanent lighting makes sense for you

The holiday ladder routine wears you out
If putting up and taking down strands takes a full weekend twice a year, a permanent system ends that chore for good.
Clips keep breaking or bulbs keep failing
Plastic clips crack in the cold and cheap strands go dark in sections. A track system holds everything in place season after season.
Your entry and driveway feel dark
Winter evenings come early here. Soft white light from the roofline makes it easier to see the steps and the path from the car.
You want curb appeal without clutter
No extension cords across the lawn, no stakes, no tangle by the door. The house simply looks finished after sunset.
You like decorating for more than one holiday
Red and green in December, orange in October, team colors on game day. The app lets you switch in seconds.

How a job runs from first call to first light

  1. 1

Free quote by phone and a site visit

You call, tell us what you have in mind, and we set a time to look at the house. We measure the roofline, check the fascia and soffit, and find the best outlet for power.

  2. 2

    A clear written plan

We explain the layout, the track color and the number of runs, and we tell you what goes into the price. Nothing is added later without talking to you first.

  3. 3

    Installation day

Most homes take a day of work on ladders around the outside. We fasten the track, set the nodes, run the wiring and keep the area around the house clear as we go.

  4. 4

    Testing and handoff

We light the full system, check every section for even color, and set up the app with you. Packaging and scraps leave with us.

What shapes the price of permanent lighting

Every house is a little different, so we price from your own roofline and layout. The free quote covers each part of the job, and we explain why each item is there. Planning a season ahead also gives you time to budget without pressure.

Length of the roofline
More linear feet means more track and more nodes. Some homeowners start with the front of the house and add the sides later.
Roof height and pitch
A single-story ranch is quicker to reach than a tall two-story with steep gables. Height affects ladder work and time on site.
Corners, peaks and breaks
Each turn in the roofline needs extra cuts and connections. Older homes with lots of gables and dormers take more detail work.
Condition of the trim
Track mounts best to solid fascia. If we find soft or loose wood, we point it out with photos so you can decide how to handle it before we mount anything.
Power location
An outdoor outlet near the start of the run keeps things simple. A longer path to power adds wiring and time.

Questions about permanent lighting

Will the track be noticeable during the day?
Very little. The channel sits tight under the drip edge or against the fascia, and we match it to your trim color. From the street most people only see a thin line that looks like part of the house.
How does it handle snow and ice?
The nodes are sealed for outdoor use and the track shields the wiring. Snow sitting on the roof does not affect them. We mount the track so it does not block water flow off the roof edge or interfere with your gutters.
Do I need to leave the lights on a certain color?
No. You can run warm white every evening, switch to colors for a holiday, or set a schedule that turns them on at dusk and off at bedtime. All of it is done from the app on your phone.
What happens if I lose Wi-Fi?
The lights still work. The controller keeps its last settings and schedule, so your evening lighting carries on. Once Wi-Fi is back, the app reconnects and you can make changes again.
When is the best time to schedule?
Spring through early fall is ideal. Trim is dry, days are long, and you avoid the late-fall rush when everyone thinks about holiday lights at once. We work across Amsterdam and nearby towns like Johnstown, Gloversville and Scotia.
