Concrete and Paver Care in Amsterdam, NY

We clean the hard surfaces around your home exterior: concrete driveways, walkways, front steps and paver patios. You get even, streak-free results, safer footing and a clear plan for when to clean next, so the work happens on your schedule instead of after the grime has set in.

What concrete and paver care does for your home

Flat surfaces take the most abuse of anything outside your house. Car tires leave dark tracks, leaves stain concrete as they break down, and shaded steps grow a green film that turns slick when it rains. Over time that dirt works into the pores of the surface, and a garden hose stops making a dent.

We use a rotary cleaning head, a round tool that spins water evenly across the ground, so you do not end up with the zebra stripes a handheld wand leaves behind. Pressure and water temperature are matched to the material, because brushed concrete, older broom-finish walks and interlocking pavers each handle water differently.

It is also the kind of job that is easiest to plan. Most of our neighbors book it once a year, often in spring after the salt and sand from winter have done their damage, or ahead of a graduation party or a sale listing when they want the curb appeal to show.

What's included in every visit

A walk-through before we start
We look at each surface with you, point out stains that will lift and ones that may only fade, and agree on the areas to clean. No surprises once the water is running.
Pre-treatment of problem spots
Oil drips, rust marks and organic stains get a targeted treatment first. This loosens what plain water cannot reach.
Even cleaning with a rotary head
The spinning head keeps the distance and pressure steady across the whole slab. That gives you a uniform finish from the garage door to the street.
Edges, steps and corners
We detail the spots the big tool cannot reach, like the risers on your front steps and the seams along the foundation.
Paver joint care
On paver patios and walks we clean gently enough to avoid blasting out the joint sand, and we let you know if the joints need refilling.
Rinse-down and cleanup
We rinse runoff and debris away from your lawn, plantings and siding, then roll up and leave your yard the way we found it.

Signs your surfaces are ready for a cleaning

  • White haze after winter

Road salt tracked up the driveway dries into a chalky film. Left alone, it keeps pulling moisture into the concrete through freeze and thaw cycles.

  • Green or black film on shaded areas

North-facing steps and walks under trees grow algae and mildew. It looks dingy and gets slippery in wet weather.

  • Dark tire tracks and drip stains

Lines where you park and spots under the car are the first thing guests see when they pull in.

  • Weeds and moss in paver joints

Growth between pavers holds moisture and can push stones out of level over time.

  • Leaf and seed stains

Fall leaves and spring seeds leave brown outlines on light concrete that a broom will never touch.

How a cleaning day goes

  1. 1

    Your free quote by phone

You tell us which surfaces you want cleaned and roughly how big they are. We ask a few questions about stains and access and set a date that suits your plans.

  2. 2

    Setup and protection

We arrive, ask you to move cars off the driveway, and cover or wet down nearby plantings. Outlets and low windows near the work area get checked before we begin.

  3. 3

    Treat, clean and detail

Stains are pre-treated, the main surfaces are cleaned with the rotary tool, then edges and steps are finished by hand.

  4. 4

    Final rinse and walk-through

We rinse everything clear and walk the area with you. Most surfaces are dry and ready to use within a few hours on a mild day.

What affects the price

Every quote starts with the size and condition of what you want cleaned. We explain each part of the price on the call, so you can budget for it and choose what matters most this year. Planning ahead also lets you pair it with other outdoor work on the same visit.

Square footage
A single-car driveway and a short walk is a smaller job than a long driveway, patio and steps together.
Type of surface
Pavers take more care and time than poured concrete because the joints have to be protected.
Stain severity
Years of buildup, oil spots or rust need more pre-treatment than a surface cleaned last season.
Access and water
Steep driveways, tight side paths and the distance to an outdoor spigot all change how long setup takes.

Questions about concrete and paver care

Something not covered here? (518) 629-1827

Will cleaning damage my concrete or pavers?

Not when the pressure suits the surface. We adjust for older or softer concrete and use gentler settings on pavers so joint sand stays put. If a surface is already flaking, we tell you before we start.

Can every stain be removed?

Most dirt, algae and salt residue come out completely. Deep oil stains and rust that have soaked in for years often fade a great deal but may not vanish. We point these out during the walk-through so your expectations match the result.

When is the best time of year to schedule?

Late spring is popular because winter salt and sand are gone and the growing season has not yet stained things again. Early fall works well too, before leaves come down. Booking a few weeks out helps you get the date you want.

Do I need to be home during the cleaning?

You do not have to be, as long as cars are moved and we can reach an outdoor spigot. Many people like to be there for the final walk-through, but we can also go over the results by phone.

Should I seal my driveway after cleaning?

A clean surface is the right starting point if you plan to seal. Give the concrete time to dry fully first, and we can talk through timing on your call so the two jobs line up.
